Tuesday, December 22 at 7pm.  We each take a candle, walk the spiral, letting go of the attachments of the year. We light the candle from the chalice in the center of the spiral, then retrace our steps as we ponder the possibilities of a new year and find a spot to lay the candle along the spiral. After all candles are lit and placed, we experience the magic of light and possibility. If you wish to help build the spiral with us, bring your winter greens at 6 pm.

Holiday Hope 2015 Underway!

Holiday Hope is a program of New Bedford Child and Family Services that helps make Christmas a reality for families who are facing various challenges. Each year, our church sponsors three families. This year, in an effort to make it easier for our congregation to shop Black Friday sales, we have set up the list of gift suggestions on line via the following link to a “Google form” Holiday Hope Gift List. Have no fear for those without a computer, you may pick out a gift tag the traditional way.

On Sunday November 29, we will be putting up the Holiday Hope tree as usual, making gift tags with the church school kids so you may choose a tag that day. The final deadline to bring wrapped gifts back to the church will be Sunday, December 13.

November 15 – “Practicing Patience”

Wouldn’t you suddenly want to become a more patient person? What a great gift you could give yourself. Yes, that’s right “Give yourself the gift of patience.” Today’s sermon will look at patience not as something that you have or don’t have but as something you do and something you can develop more of with practice.
