The Men’s Fellowship with the assistance of the Women’s Alliance and Social Justice Committee will again be hosting a soup luncheon on Soup-R-Bowl Sunday February 5 in the church Auditorium. Besides the good fellowship generated by spending time together, the event is slated to be a fundraiser. Men from the Men’s Fellowship will prepare a selection of soups with bread and P.B.+J sandwiches for the children. Salads, desserts and drinks will be provided by the Women’s Alliance. “Admission” to the luncheon will be a suggested donation of money or non-perishable boxed or (preferably) canned, high protein food (i.e., tuna, peanut butter, beans, pasta, pasta sauce, etc.) Please…no glass containers. The money collected will go to the Shepherd’s Pantry and other worthy causes as determined by the Men’s Fellowship. Food collected will go to the Shepherd’s Pantry. The “suggested donation” for money is $3.00 for children,$5.00 for adults or 10.00 per family.

Woman’s March participants and friends: Let’s keep the momentum going! The National Women’s March has launched a 100 day follow up action plan. The first action is a postcard writing campaign. We have had 100 postcards printed and will be having a POSTCARD PARTY after church today from noon to 12:45. We will gather in the dining room to complete our cards and chat about our experiences and ideas for moving forward. If you are not able to participate please feel free to pick up some postcards. If you were not able to march on January 21 but were with us in spirit, you are more than welcome to participate. The more, the merrier! We are hoping to schedule other follow up events as well, so stay tuned!

The RE Visioning Committee would like the entire congregation to join us for lunch on January 8, 2017, after the service, to continue our discussion about the posting for the new Director of Religious Education. We need to hear more from you before we finalize the job description, especially related to lifespan faith formation. The junior and senior youth groups are encouraged to attend. Childcare and lunch provided. We will have you done by 1:15. This process is vitally important to all members of the church, no matter your age. Please join us for food and conversation.
