February 28th – “Claiming the Right to Question”

Many of us grew up learning to equate faith with doctrine. One memorizes the doctrine, espouses the doctrine, lives the doctrine and in so doing becomes a person of faith. Often the word faith troubles us because it seems linked to narrow-minded belief systems, lack of intelligent examination, or pain at having our questions silenced. This sermon explores the concept of faith as an inner quality that unfolds as we learn to trust our own deepest experience and frees us to claim the right to question.
